About Us
Our team of coaches and directors bring decades of playing, coaching, and teaching experience to the table. We believe that whether your goal is to go pro, or simply try a new sport, that there’s a development model that’s right for you.
Sports Academy Model
At the Capital Sports Club, our programs are designed around the sports academy model as opposed to the traditional North American approach to athletics. Find out why that makes a difference below.

Benefits of the
Sports Academy Model
Training
Training is consistent, high quality and integrated into an overarching LTAD model.
Coaching
Coaches are experienced, vetted, and receive ongoing training themselves to improve their skillsets.
Experience Focused
The Capital Sports Club strives to ensure that every athlete, whether at the rec or elite level has a high quality sporting experience.
Tailor Fitted
Athletic development plans are unique to each athlete based on their desired outcomes.
Clear Pathways
Programs are created with a desired outcome in mind, and follow the overall club philosophy for participants.
Creating a Culture
We want our families to feel like they belong to something larger, and are connected to the broader community & sporting landscape.
Limitations of the
Traditional Approach
Training
Athletes can often receive inconsistent levels of development from one season to the next.
Coaching
Coaches are usually inexperienced, and selected based on availability rather than any particular skillsets.
Outcome Focused
Many programs will highlight the success stories of elite level athletes, but pay less attention to rec level development.
Cookie Cutter
Lesson plans are usually generic and “one size fits all” in nature, without much customization.
Fragmented Pathways
Athletes typically cycle in and out with no clear development pathway mapped out beyond the current season.
Team Focused
Often an increased focus on developing a culture within a specific team, which doesn’t extend beyond that group.
